------------------------------------------------------
In art making imagination is king and, unlike in life, the only limitation is the medium itself. It is another way of expressing feelings and thoughts, like a diary. Therefore, I begin this blog with the intention of showing you some of my processes, and ideas.
HOW I GOT HERE:
My passion for fine arts has been in me since a young girl living in El Salvador. Yet, my enthusiasm for the field did not fully flourish until moving to New York and receiving a BA in Fine Arts. After graduating as a Graphic Artist, I worked for a large publishing corporation for a few years. Although an adventure in itself, a desk job did not feel natural to me. So, I did some soul searching and realized in my rocky life, through war, moving and much instability, art was my one constant way of expression.
I know the power of art making, therefore, I find myself teaching this wonderful subject. I am currently receiving a Masters in Art and Art Education at Teachers College, Columbia University and teaching to adults and children of the area. I hope that you enjoy my art and ideas and maybe, just maybe, I can inspire the artists within all of you!
MY WORK IS MADE UP OF:
Printmaking (etching, lithography, silkscreen, engraving)
Drawing (dry, wet medium)
Sculpture (various materials)
Painting (acrylic, oil, watercolor)
Photo
Ceramics (porcelain, stoneware)
Graphic Design
Drawing:
These are just a few examples of work done in the last few years. Things have influenced
many of these pieces but some were just experiments in distinct
mediums and styles.
